I wasn't around for the moon landings, but I've heard people say that when it happened, a lot of old folks (70 and older) at the time didn't believe it when it happened. They just couldn't believe we had that kind of technology. Then again, you had folks that were still around then that remembered Kitty Hawk. It is amazing to see how far we came in flight in a relatively short period of time.

Okay maybe not Germany. And while there's not a tangible $$ value, Russia and China could brainwash their masses into some patriotic frenzy with a successful mission.
Kind of like a "Lets show America how it's done" platform. I'm just wondering really. It seems logical.
I'm totally ignorant about space travel and most of the world's political climates so possible I'm way off here.

Well what's to stop anyone from questioning the validity of that happening? I asked this question to someone earlier. What is needed to prove to a person, that we did in fact land on the moon? If pictures and video's are in question, what is needed exactly to prove it's validity?

Well I suppose a live feed like a web cam with someone there and broadcast around the world and taking requests. Like throw an apple in the air, Jump 5 feet, etc and other displays of feats possible only on the Moon. As well as some sweeeping camera views in HD resolution so people can examine the footage.

China gets nothing from it. Chinese people don't care about the moon. This is what they care about:
They line up for that like it's the new Jordans. Russia might care, but they're to broke to do it. And quite frankly what does that achieve? Supremacy down her on Earth really matters. The space race is over. It would be a hollow victory of an era gone by. Maybe a bunch of 60yr old former KGB guys may toast vodka to it but rank and file citizens don't give a shite.

What a long way to go to bring back moon rocks.
I think it's safe to say we are pretty much alone in the area we can reach or travel to.
