There's no traffic.

Living in DFW, I got used to traffic and commutes. 15-45 minutes in a car to go shopping, eat, zoo, entertainment, etc. one hour to get to work. It was just a part of life.

Being back here (live in Sulphur) I live a mile from work and crossing the bridge to go to Lake Charles is just "too far"

If I had to draw a line it would be around jennings...other line would run through Deridder and they'd intersect in Oakdale

Mamou would be about 3 miles from that boundary. Judgment call IMO.

Lakes all around, tons of fish, crabs, shrimp, birds.
Light traffic
Casinos ( soon to be two of the nicest in the state)
Cameron parish is basically one huge wildlife refuge
Close drive to IAH
Crawfish are plentiful and cooked correctly
Bayou Rum
Sam Houston State Park
Healthy Ports

You can still go to public high schools and get a good education (if you live in SLC or Moss Bluff/Sulphur).
