Am I the only one here that doesn't consider mamou or ville platte southwest?

I was thinking the same thing, but I just melt when them villeplatte, mamou and delcambre women talk. Will be at Freds the Saturday before Mardi Gras.

I might just buy a 12 pack and let her read the dictionary to me.

You can still go to public high schools and get a good education (if you live in SLC or Moss Bluff/Sulphur).

It's dying because they don't let people bring ice chests and drink on the street anymore. If it dies, it will be the towns fault. But it used to be EPIC!

Best thing about SWLA is you are never more than an hour away from good fishing or good waterfowl hunting.

And whoever said the thing about no Baptists.......there is only one catholic church in all of Beauregard Parish. And probably 80% of all churches in that parish are Baptist.

I honestly can't speak for the proclivity for livestock, but it was pretty easy to figure out what he meant.

For me, its the people... Some of the most generous, loving, and downright good people I know are from that area. Truly some of them are the salt of the earth. The uncle who took me fishing for the first time and many more times after over the years. The grandmother who made pancakes in different shapes for me every morning, watched Mid-South wrestling with me, and would bet a dime on who would win the matches (even though she knew there was no way JYD would lose). The aunt who, on her wedding night before leaving the next morning to go on her honeymoon, took care of me when I got sick as a dog. The cousins who I played football, hunted, fished, etc. with. This would include all of those and many more from that area who positively impacted me over the years.

I wouldn't be the person I am today without those people from that area, so THEY are what is positive about SWLA to me...

Crawfish, boudin, plenty of land to buy a plot and put a fence up to keep the zombies out.
