if this is the case that is one thing. i took the OP more as simply it was a perk being offered without any official agreement

I rarely ever bring my company laptop home, but I’d never be so foolish as to use it for anything outside of strictly work related use beyond checking weather/local news, which I occasionally do at work anyway. Even then the comment sections are liable to get me in hot water, but worth the laughs. I stay away from the OT on company devices.
