Illegal in EBR parish but the white trash doesn't care. I put out a blast about it on our subdivision blog and so far have gotten overwhelming support. Just voted a new crime prevention district and I'm going to put this at the top of the agenda. I've put up with this shite for 15 years and I'm tired of it.

I'm gonna go launch some right now just because you made this post.

You live in BR and think the top priority for the Crime Prevention District is fireworks?! How did you get to be in charge of what goes on the agenda?

Happy New Year and GET OFF MY LAWN!

Yeah, it's always the big dog that hates it the worst. My little ones don't care.

On the bright side, it's supposed to storm Friday so hopefully everybody saw the report and blows their wad tonight and tomorrow and won't pull what's becoming the annual "two weeks of random fireworks" BS.

I just took my dog for a walk to show him what the noises were. Every time a mortar would fire, he would act like he was trying to protect me.

My old boy never gave a shite. Acted like nothing was going on. Our pyredane was barking at the door every time something went off earlier, but she's laying on the couch next to me channeling her big brothers lack of fricks.

My dog is really really sick right now so I think fireworks are the least of his worries right now.

Yup, my dog is a complete mess right now. Shaking & trying to find a place to hide, right now that place is glued to my side in the recliner. Will probably break out the liquid benedryl before too long.

My puggle is sleeping on the couch He don't give a crap about fireworks. My whole subdivision sounds like a war zone. Now my border collie was scared to death. He passed away 2 yrs ago

Simple solution for this problem. When you dog is a puppy, bang a pot, shoot a gun, and basically just make loud abrupt noises while they eat. It ties a positive memory with those occurrences

My Boykin thinks they're gun shots and that people are going hunting outside without him, and he doesn't like that at all. Comes running up to me every time one goes off and let's me know that we need to go outside to check it out

Our hound mutt was totally freaked out by thunder and fireworks. She died back in June.

My dog is barking her head off now. Besides benadryl, is there anything else I can do to calm her?

Put a blanket over her. Sometimes dogs like the burrowing vibe and feel more secure.

Our Lab hears any thunder, fireworks, loud pops and he is a Tasmanian devil nutcase!
