In announcing his resignation, Chester laid out a laundry list of issues with Nungesser’s oversight of the State Museum, including interference in staffing and management decisions.

Nungesser also has used the museum’s property for his own personal use, Chester said. That includes a vacant apartment in the Lower Pontalba on Jackson Square, which had previously been used for guest speakers.

Nungesser said he had personally used the apartment two or three times and noted Chester had stayed there for several weeks when he was first hired. Other uses have included hosting legislators, tourism officials, musicians and the grandson of the woman who donated the building to the state.

The museum has never been denied use of the apartment when it has asked for it, he said.

In addition, he said, Nungesser has been seeking to convert another, more desirable apartment in the building into a personal pad, which would involve construction that would alter the unit’s historic character.

Nungesser is and always has been a crooked douchebag.

So Chester was ok to stay there for personal reasons but his boss can't

I remember some folks that worked on the BP spill project telling me that Billy was asking them to find some oil to throw in the water behind him before a CNN interview.

You don't seem to understand how relocation works.

Actually the building is owned by the La State Museum. The upper Pontalba is owned by the city.

And the apartments are incredible and desirable so I see why he wants it. He's a dickhead.

Will anybody even deliver to that address?

Gonna be a lot of Digiorno, I'm guessing.

Nungessor is as crooked as they come. I can't understand how or why Lee Zurik hasn't gone after him yet. Ole Billy must have some dirt on Lee.

I have an aunt and uncle who have a condo there. I don't really understand it. I've never asked them. do you own the condo, or is it rented? I do know that they can't do much without approval since it's a historical building.

My aunt and uncle have one of the apartments in Jackson square on St. Ann for their leisurely getaway occasionally. Very nice. Had to wait on the list for several years before it became available. I see why he wants one.
