WDSU Article

quote:

According to the sheriff, around 7 a.m. deputies responded to a call of a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man left his home and ran to a neighbor saying he had been shot. The man was taken to an area hospital where he later died, according to police. Deputies say the man's wife was barricaded inside the home in the 1500 block of Cherry Ridge Court off Rapatel Street. The sheriff said SWAT was called to the home and entered to find she had taken her own life.

Mandeville didn’t have these kinds of problems when I was a kid. Sad what it’s coming to. Prayers for their families.

Sounds like the wife was the one that committed it. Crazy.

Yes it did.

I mean murder suicides arent some sign of an area going downhill necessarily. Crazy people still exist in good areas. I know patterson isnt some mecca of niceness or anything but its generally a quiet, safe area and we had a pretty nasty murder suicide incident 10 or so years ago. As messed up as it may be shite just happens sometimes

A few houses down from me. Didn’t hear any of it. I’m curious as to what time it happened though because it seems unusual we didn’t hear the shots when we heard them from the last murder/suicide earlier this year, and that one was twice as far away.

The number of murder/suicides that occur between now and 2025 are going to blow past anything we’ve ever seen I’m afraid. We are all in for a world of hurt (already have been) mentally and economically that most of us have never experienced. When you combine those stress levels with how many crazy people are out there…. It’s just gonna be more commonplace in the news and around where you live. Regardless of where that is. If you or someone you know needs help please ask. Ask and not need it before you don’t ask and it was needed.

ETA

I accidentally hit the lol emoji. That was a mistake and I’m being serious

Why would you refer to this as a "Mandeville problem"?

What does that have to do with Mandeville?

Sounds like an isolated domestic situation, could happen anywhere..
