I was stranded there for 4 days at the super 8 on I-40 once.

I did some work in the heart of Pakistan and was there at a time when Clinton fired cruise missles at Bin Laden in Afghanistan. Most Americans were evacuated from Pakistan. I was remote enough that it was safer to just stay and rely on the security forces of the company that I was working for. We had CNN in the compound, pretty surreal watching it.
When I finally flew out the security at Heathrow was the tightest I've ever seen. Everybody getting off the plane was checked out thoroughly. They were looking for terrorists being sent out to retaliate.

That dog track they have is one of the shadiest places I've ever been to.

That's silly. I've been to Mexico and all over Europe and New Orleans is technically the most dangerous place I've been.

I've been to Bahrain at least 10 times... I never felt unsafe there though.
The last time I went was around 2006 and I heard they had some shite go down a while later... didn't they tear down that big monument? The pearl or something?

This summer stopping in West Memphis for gas, I just happened to notice a man casually walking around with a hatchet in his hand during the middle of the day. Needless to say we got the hell out of there!
