I've tried everything over the years. I have a pool and we spend a lot of time back there. Tried everything. All of the torches, candles, sprays and foggers. None worked.

Then I heard about bats. I bought a bat house on Amazon and hung it behind my shed. It's really been unbelievable. No more mosquitos....at all.

During the day, yes but once evening comes, none. But you can see a lot of bats. I guess the little guys must eat a hell of a lot of bugs. I've been trying to solve this for years.

It works.

Anyone else tried this?

Either I guess. Mine is wood and holds up to 300 of the little bastards. I've never looked inside and have no intention to do so.

But they work their little asses off.

There's a lot of choices on Amazon and eBay. I don't know shite about this either.

But the results have been very clear.

Yes, but those mf'ers are hard to hit with one. The electric tennis rackets work better.

If you have kids tell them to go out under your security light after dark, and pitch a ball up into the air,if they haven't started doing this yet.

We used to love to watch the bats chase the ball.

I don't understand when people talk about mosquitoes during the day, because my area is weird..

I never have a single mosquito during the day. Not one.. or even during any daylight..

but at night there are mosquitoes.

Do you have a very sunny yard, maybe in a new subdivision? Houses close together? 1 yard adjoining the next one?

Screw bats. They fly erratically and dive bomb at your head.

Bats are cool. I was exploring a cave with some buddies once, and we were in this big cavern. There was this one little bat that just hovered in the middle of us for several minutes, just trying to figure us out. It was cool watching him close up like that.

Ever since Asian Tiger mosquitoes got accidentally imported from Japan a couple of decades ago, the southern U.S. has been overrun by "daytime mosquitoes." Their larvae grow on water droplets on big-leaved plants, and their adult populations hover around in the shade.
