What is the best mold killer/prevention solution for dealing with flood damage?

If this has been addressed, many apologies. No time to search. Please don't be an a-hole.

This is awesome. Thanks! Got too many irons in the fire now, and the men folk are out trying to get supplies and can't look this stuff up on their own.

Gotta use a antimicrobial first...

Tear out saturated drywall and flooring.

Dry out with fans.

Apply bleach and or antimicrobial.

Quit telling people that lie. It only takes care of surface mold at best but it's advisable to use an antimicrobial first.

I updated my thread with your advice from the other thread.

I took credit for it of course.

Get in there with a couple of dehumidifiers as soon as possible. Also really helps with hardwood floors that have buckled from being soaked in flood waters.

Also get a few dehumidifiers and run a hose to a drain, so they can run consistently. Air movement with a fan is good, but if the air is already saturated it won't do much.

Bleach is only moderately effective. The bleach is on solution and the bleach will evaporate leaving water behind for mold to grow with.

It kinda depends on how long the water stays in the house and how quickly you get to it. Unless it's been a couple weeks, I don't see how mold is gonna form on your studs. Get in and tear out Sheetrock and spray bleach. You should be fine....but yeah, getting the moisture out is key
