After the Missouri Football team threatened to boycott the next game the President stepped down. The threat of costing the university $1 million for not playing is what finally forced the resignation. After setting this dangerous precedent how long will it take for the rest of the SEC or country or any conference for that matter come together and decide we are striking until we're paid?

Would the same situation happen and the NCAA buckle? Scabs? Kicked out of school?

That's easy - any player threatening such gets kicked off the team and gets their scholarship pulled. We'll see how quickly they fall in line then.

but what happens when its 70% of the team and most of the best players...imagine if LF7 was part of it. He could still sit out and be a first or second round pick

They are already paid to play. Not my problem or the school's problem that they don't value the opportunity of a free college education, as well as free meals, free pro weight training, and the many contacts these coaches have to get their name out to the next level.

Should have just let all the white dudes play.

It's not like they weren't going to get the shite beat out them anyway.

How many universities can afford to actually pay their players? From what we hear, few programs turn a profit on athletics. Can the market handle higher ticket prices and increased TV contracts to make this happen. Doesn't seem like it to me, but I'm just a TD poster.

Most universities lose money because only 1 or 2 sports are profitable...always football

if they were forced to stop the profit sharing with over sports there is a lot of value...much more value than a free education, weight training and what they currently recieve.

I would think the NCAA would look to move to an Olympic Model where an athlete can use his likability and image to make money (selling jerseys, autographs, making appearances) but the school doesnt actually pay him

What school would have the best "walk-on" students? I'd guess a school like Miami.

if all the student athletes were white it wouldn't hurt the game or the game for the fans...it would still be competitive

Then make a public announcement that the season will likely have to be suspended because of action by the players, and that the season tickets that everyone paid handsomely for are not going to be refunded. Public backlash would be immense.

Bull shite. They had more than enough remaining players to field a team.

The dean should have said, "Let me see that picture. Okay, none of them are going on the trip."

End of story.

The jerseys belong to the university not the player. Also, the players would be making money due to them being a player at the university and at the university's expense, so the university would have to get a big cut of the profits.

I think this would have been a real possibility. The school just makes the announcement that they will field a team under any circumstances. If the coach refuses to assist, he's suspended/fired and just keep going down the line of his staff until someone agrees to do it. The AD calls a player's meeting to look at what kind of talent is there and open up for walk-ons as soon as his meeting is over.

If LSU refused to play a game because of player's refusing, I just couldn't imagine what type of scenario would start playing out between TAF and alumni; the LA Legislature would probably call an emergency session.

It would be highly entertaining but would probably decimate you being able to compete in the conference for years. The SEC needs to handle up on this. Mizzou needs to be dealt with before shite gets real.

the hell he would, a pro team isnt going to risk millions on a kid that just proved football is not his #1 priority.
