She's a POS whose qualifications for being a state representative include being the first black cheerleader at Laurel High School.

Bitch opposed a bill mandating personal finance in MS high schools because of the negative effect it could have on payday loan businesses in her neighborhood.

Why would residents of Flint be given money? It's not like they are the ones who are going to fix the water issue.

Prime example of clueless politicians in Washington using people's lives as political points. During an event where a city was utterly colorblind, some a-hole in DC decides to make hay and drive a wedge deeper to get shameless recognition.

Laurel High School

A solid educational institute.

I lived there for a while. Went to a 'career day' at LHS to talk to high school seniors about being an engineer. The school didn't offer physics or calculus. Of the 100 or so students I spoke to, one was interested in pursuing a degree and was disappointed in the curriculum available to him there.

Just like everywhere else, white flight is in full effect in that area. Anyone with money moves out "to the county." The city school is being left to die academically and the surrounding county schools are excelling.

Flint is a travesty of justice, but I fail to see what the two things have to do with each other. She's using the classic false dilemma fallacy.

The people affected by the flooding ARE majority white. That's what she's saying. Not that BR is majority white.

I think there is a little difference in a natural disaster and a man made disaster.

I've been to Laurel (admittedly a long time ago). A town of 15K or so people has white flight? Where are they fleeing to, the woods?

Trivia: Laurel was the hometown of Blanche Dubois (changed to "Oriole" in the movie for legal reasons)

In short: yes.

Or just outside of the city limits. There was a gorgeous new development placed just outside of the city limits that a lot of people moved out of the city and into so they could send their kids to the county schools.

It is OK for black people to be openly racially discriminatory, even if they are elected to a public office.

It is a disgusting trend, and will only get more inflammatory until it hits a breaking point.
