No doubt, We have a 2015 Grand Caravan. It's a must when going somewhere with the small children.

I mean I suppose a Tahoe or something similar would also suffice but why sacrifice the gas mileage and other benefits the minivan gives?

Now that we have one I can't imagine why anyone with 3+ kids would drive anything else. Especially if they still need car seats.

I can't either , honestly. I mean seriously if you are that tied up in "real men don't drive minivans" LOL whatever , I drive a Ford Focus ST as my every day car, when I need to tow a trailer though, I use the F250 Super Duty because well it's the right vehicle for the job, the minivan is the right vehicle for hauling the family around.

Though nothing wrong with an SUV either.

Also, the power sliding doors, at least on the Sienna, can be operated with the keyfob. I love when we're walking in the parking lot and I can go ahead and open both doors so the kids can get right in. Also helps in the summer heat to start cooling the vehicle off quickly. Two huge doors open and it starts letting that heat out. Crank it up first and while I'm strapping the youngest into the carseat, by the time I get in the drivers seat it is cool.

Yay. Your wife will love it. Pretentious people on here will say no way. Then again, they will buy suburban or Yukon XLs, which are not fooling anyone into believing those are some super cool vehicles.

Get a Honda mini and rock it.

I'd get a minivan before I'd ever get a Subaru.

Why is someone necessarily pretentious simply because they do not like minivans? FWIW, I don't like Suburbans or Yukons either.

I still drive my '06 Odyssey. When I first got it, as a mom of a toddler, I deemed it my dream car. Why? Those back doors slide open and any kid can climb in. This was great when I was super preggers with my second. It can hold a ton of stuff, too. I really thought I would have moved on to another car by now, but I thoroughly enjoy the van I have now and don't see replacing it anytime soon. It turns on a dime, has great pickup, and is low maintenance. When it does konk I would be a candidate for an older 4Runner, newer Outback, or a Jeep unlimited.

On our Dodge it isn't just the sliding doors, you can also open and close the rear hatch via the key fob.

Have to disagree there. We went to test drive a used Odyssey. She had her heart set on it. Took them both out, and the Sienna was much quieter. We drove at least 2-3 of each because they had them all on the lot, and each of the Honda's was louder.

The Honda and Nissan we test drove were both quieter. It was funny cause the wife loved her SUV. I had found a cherry 2000 escalade 4wd with the 350 for a straight trade on her car. I don't like notes. Man it was a GREAT SUV. She had enough though of picking kids up and putting them in with their carriers.

We got the van and it's pretty awesome. Loaded down still getting 25 mpgs on the highway is great. It'll be paid off this month with 87000 miles on it.

OP needs to buy used cause kids are hard on em. Get weather techs as well

Put up the kids for adoption, divorce the wife, and get yourself one of these:

You should get whatever you want. It does not matter what everyone else thinks you should have. Please do not make your wife drive a suburban though. I think a special license should be required to drive a vehicle that size!

We've had the Odyssey and Sienna. I'm tall and found the Sienna more comfortable. FWIW the Sienna is also faster. I think it's the fastest minivan. It moves pretty good.

I missed this thread earlier. But I'm here to tell you that minivans are for men who have given up on life.

If you want your wife to lose respect for you and you no longer need sex... A minivan is a good choice.

I've got one and I love it.

It's an old Toyota Previa Minivan so I don't know about the new ones or other models but I recommend having one especially parents with children.

Okay, the gas millage isn't the greatest but I don't mind spending a few more bucks on gas when it is very easy to drive and park and has lots of room in it for all the things you need to take with you including kids.

My 3 kids are grown and mostly grown now. Never considered a minivan thank God. Tahoe did the trick just fine.

Also, vans are for chubby/fat people. The in-shape housewives who drive them will one day cheat on their man with a guy who doesn't drive a minivan and isn't fat.

We bought a Chrysler Town and Country a few years back when we had a third child to haul around. It's very practicle, my wife loves it and it is great for road trips. We live out of state so we frequently make long drives to visit family and/or vacation. If you're over 21 and worried about how people will judge your family's choice of vehicles you've got significant self esteem issues. Im amused by all the fools hauling kids around in huge SUVs making larger payments and spending more on gas just to impress strangers in traffic

We had a T&C 2000-2006. My wife hated it and we got a Suburban. Horrible decision. The van was better in almost ever area except "coolness". We still have the suburban. I make the wife drive it as a reminder. She hates it. We should have bought another T&C.

Yeah great but whats any of that matter when a 1+ ton vehicle slams into the side of it.

Hard to put interlocking segment 4 in solid square iron reinforcement bars down each side of your vehicle with a sliding door. Just saying
