Amazing to think that as advanced as our technology is we haven't developed a microscopic "drone" or something the size of a mosquito that could be used to carry out assassinations or spy on other governments.

Do these types of drones exist? Seems like it would be pretty simple for a company like Lockheed or a school like MIT to develop it.

That does seem pretty easy.

What makes you think we haven't?

Wouldn't we have used it or heard about it by now? Because it seems like an ideal way to get rid of folks like Kim Jong and Assad. Fly a mosquito with a little VX down their throats.

According to reliable sources that rhyme with "dalecks bones", we've had this technology for decades. Unfortunately it's mostly used to molest children in other dimensions.

Battery technology is still our achilles when it come to drones. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it seems unlikely.

Absolutely, widely used in Afghanistan. Also being used in Mosul which is the first real test in an urban environment.

You can't assassinate leaders of free people these days. It will only make that person a martyr. We need Un and Assad to frick up royally, like launch missiles or attack a US ship or territory, so that we can do a precision strike with tomahawks or other means.

As far as microscopic drones, they're out there. Why would the government talk about their surveillance techniques?

Why do you think its "Amazing" we havent developed a microscopic flying robit that we can control, guide, and use to kill a human being? What do we have thats event remotely close to this?

Oh I don't know...maybe because we have handheld computers that control everything in our lives, can send rovers to Mars, can look in your car window from an orbiting satellite and can grow organ tissue out of a fricking spinach leaf. Doesn't seem like a tiny drone would be that much of a stretch.

I have seen some military drones that are the size of a sparrow, that's the smallest I am aware of. Mosquito? Nope.

We have actually restricted ourselves from doing that with law.

They've been working on stuff like this for years. To have something that small be effective our nanotechnology needs to progress beyond where it's at now.
