Blind Man's Bluff. Not Civil War or WWI, but talks about subs and their top secret missions. Had me hooked like a meth addiction, minus the f'd up face...

re: 1 day in Paris or Lyon for the weekend? - bubblehead26
So my ship pulled into Marseille for 5 days. I took off to Nice for a night and thoroughly enjoyed. The French Riviera is beautiful and lots of things to do in the city, including an American bar to talk to locals...

re: Navy BUD/S - bubblehead26
Nobody here has passed BUDS. And if there are people here who passed, they're not going to say it. SEALs are a different people, they don't tell anything about who they are, even if you know who they are...

Just an observation from a recent trip to Marseille and Nice, but they had soldiers patrolling with assault rifles. And post terror attack, their crime is down....

re: Why do people hate their in-laws - bubblehead26
My father in law and his wife are awesome, always supported my wife and I. My mother in law tried convincing my wife to live with her and leave me so she could help my wife raise my daughter. That was the last straw and I have been putting up with her during visits since. The joys of being milita...

re: Who would win if all the branches of the US armed forces fought each other? - bubblehead26
I'm glad y'all all read Wikipedia, but y'all are off on the boomer numbers. There's 14 boomers, 20 missiles due to the new start treaty, and I'm not saying how many nukes because it's classified. But 12 is too high. How do I know? I did 7 years on 2 different boats....

re: Who would win if all the branches of the US armed forces fought each other? - bubblehead26
terd ferguson
New START Treaty welded 4 tubes per boat shut, not a big deal though considering you were quite under on your capacity per tube. I would agree that you could completely decimate the country and world. That's not taking into effect radiation fall-out....

re: Who would win if all the branches of the US armed forces fought each other? - bubblehead26
Air force with or without nukes. The air control wins wars.
You can't be serious, right? How many off those can you knock off due to being logistics use only? Half? More? I give Navy advantage, without nukes, due to my belief that we have more conventional weapons than the othe...

re: Who would win if all the branches of the US armed forces fought each other? - bubblehead26
I'm surprised not of my other bubblehead brethren chimed in yet. The Navy, with it's ships, can dismantle from shoreline inward a few hundred miles. Submarines with tomahawks can destroy from ~1000 miles away. Boomers are where you win. For the silo theory guy, good luck. SLBMs can penetrate th...

re: U.S. is now the only country with aircraft carriers in the western hemisphere - bubblehead26
France or the UK don't have carriers in the Atlantic?
France and UK technically fall under both hemispheres, but a majority of their lands fall under the Eastern Hemisphere, so that's what they associate as. But yes, their carriers are deployed. We did a turnover with Charles d...

re: U.S. is now the only country with aircraft carriers in the western hemisphere - bubblehead26
It's all about how you maintain ships throughout their life. I'm currently typing from my office on a carrier that is 40 years old, and it doesn't show it's age. After seeing the amount of money the Navy spends on one, like cost of build and maintenance, number of personnel to operate, port visit ...
