OT didn't break the case open. The thread was discussing different leads that the police were giving about the case.
I remember Adam4LSU caught hell when he announced that the case was going to be solved in the next couple of days. There were people that rode him pretty heavy. He told them to watch and see. Adam delivered.

I still wonder if there were other unknown victims of BSL. The rumor at the time was that he had ID's of several other missing women in his home, but that must have been nothing more than rumor.

e actually did surgery to repair the ruptured tendon from one of his stab wounds. He gave the same story that he was jumped in NOLA. The other curious thing is that he was full of poison ivy....from burying that poor girl in the woods. I hope he's getting in the arse right now from a guy named Bubba
If only you had known what he had done before the surgery....there are always medical complications that come up in surgeries that cause the patient excruciating pain and long term paralysis. Accidentso happen.

I don't know. I thought that we would find out if he was the one who killed the girl in East Texas. The circumstantial evidence tied his truck, that he had been driving and burned in East Texas, to a girl that disappeared in that area. I know I was hoping that Texas could extradite him. He would have gotten the death penalty for that one.
I understand that he would have gotten the death penalty for Mickey Shunick. He elected to tell
where he buried her body if they took the death penalty off the table.

That was in Conroe, TX which is just north of the Houston/Woodlands. Also where his burnt up truck was found IIRC. He rented a little car to get back home.

Might have been South Marsh Island 268 block, but I can't remember for sure. Apache sold all of their shelf platoforms to Fieldwood, so they don't own it anymore.

I taped it and watched last night. She really put up a helluva fight to survive. Too bad the arse had a gun. At least he didn't get to rape her. That's not saying much, but I'm glad she didn't have to go through that. I'm sure he was going to kill her one way or another.

I did as well. I didn't really follow the case when it was being talked about here. Poor girl, she was definitely a fighter though.

I was impressed with the Lafayette PD for searching for video of her ride home in the manner in which they did. Finding that truck on video and narrowing down her route was golden. I think the TD poster here offered supportive evidence to the PD, it looks like the PD got their man on their own. I'm glad the parents were able to get her body and bury her.

adam4lsu came on the board asking about how to do a background check and explained his SIL was dating a POS who him and his father were very suspicious of.
After the killing happened I think Adam and his dad got super suspicious when the dude showed up at a family gathering with scars and bandages on him saying he got jumped by a gang in NO...they also knew his truck matched the description and for some reason he was in a different vehicle now.
I just got goosebumps reading that...I can't imagine being in that situation. It almost seems like something you'd see in a movie.
You're already leery of this clown for other reasons...then when you see him with cuts and he's now driving a different vehicle, and his previous one matched the description police gave re: MS....I can't even imagine what I would feel when that lightbulb in my brain went off that hey this could very likely be the guy everyone is looking for.

My girlfriend is good friends with Mickey's sister and was friends with Mickey herself.
What are her initials if you don't mind me asking? I hung out with Charlie and a group of her friends often while in college.

Guy posted here for advice (great idea) on how to convince his sister to stop dating Brandon. He said the family had an uneasy feeling about him and maybe even had a background check on the guy and he had a shady past of which I don't remember exactly what that was. Then Mickey came up missing and the brother realized that Brandon drove the exact truck they were looking for and called it in. He never did come back and post if he told his sister "I told you so".
I remember this. If I recall I think there was an injury on Brandon's arm that raised more flags. He told the guy posting here & his dad that he got the injury doing something, but a few things added up that seemed to obvious.

I watched it last night. Cops did a great job narrowing that route and using the cameras along the way
Was her mothers hair those colors for a particular reason or does she just have wacky hair?

One of the rare times they've done anything right. Fortunately, they Shunick's didn't let LPD drop the ball whatsoever.
