Baton Rouge, Louisiana with 19.7% of all homes are "seriously underwater" according to RealtyTrac.

It's never good to be ahead of Detroit on any list

I though the flood waters had receded?

I mean, probably some of those were literally underwater and the owners said f it.
Maybe?
Maybe?

Talk about all time bad timing/wording.

Probably because of all the flooding

Look at the quarter before the great flood.

Four Ohio cities in the top 5. Sheesh.

Seriously or literally? Could have sworn something happened that cause property assessments to drop.

I thought the real estate market in metro BR was doing well?

I like how they put LA after baton rouge. Wasn't aware there's another baton rouge anywhere else in the country.

The correction never really happened in Baton Rouge.
And I also think that the literal flood that happened last year caused some people to walk away from their mortgages and move into rental properties.

But wait, I thought that owning an apartment was stupid and just 'throwing money away'. Buying a house is a guaranteed good investment.

True, good point. But, are Baton Rouge homes ascending in property values?
