Mens Warehouse Vs. Jos A Banks

A suit is on the horizon and I noticed in the other thread that people said that Jos A. Banks was low quality. What about Men's Warehouse?

Jos a Banks are not low in quality, fwiw. Both of these places are fine for suits of all kinds. I have a couple from both.

I have lots from Jos A Bank and its good quality, not sure who would be knocking it, other than OT ballers who only wear $1000 suits to mow the lawn...

Got a Ralph Lauren blue sports coat from men's warehouse for like $90. Not bad especially when I looked up the real price.

Who knows. Has all the tags and whistles. RL buttons, signatures inside and whatnot. It's not cheaply made but

Does men's warehouse sell knockoff shit?

The problem with Banks, aside from being of lower quality, is that they are cut for old men/500 pound dudes.

Brooks Brothers Friends and Family sale starts this Thursday and runs till Monday the 26th. 25% off most things...I buy my suits from Brooks during F&F or the Semi Annual.

I got a bunch of stuff from MWH when I started working, which was about 2 1/2 years ago. The jackets have held up fine, but the suits, despite having been worn fairly rarely, have not. I'd say its good for business causal stuff like jackets or slacks, but you need to go to Perlis or BB if you want a real quality suit.

I think I was trying on tuxes for a wedding when I spotted it. don't have anything else from there.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I personally like suits from Dillard's better than either of them.

probably "Lauren" By Ralph Lauren

It's made by Ralph Lauren but one of their lower lines.

If you're just starting out (career-wise), get one or two from Jos A Banks. Just get it tailored so that it has a more modern fit. I'd avoid a 3 button.

Once you get a little more established, then start upgrading to Brooks Brothers during the sales.

Brooks Brothers man. I know that the $$ will be painful but they are really well made suits. You get what you pay for. In 2 years your Jos A Banks will have the stiching coming out of it and falling apart.

They are low quality compared to other suits, imo.

They are baggy, but do the trick if you either have a great tailor or don't wear it much.

I will never buy a suit from them again now that I'm a little more experienced in suit shopping.

Higher end JAB suits hold up fairly well. I have found Men's Wearhouse stuff to wear out very quickly.

Both suck for suits but Joseph A Bank still blows men's warehouse out the water

Exactly. They are not made for skinny individuals, or athletic cut individuals. They are made for the average 35-50 year old man. If that's you, then you're probably fine.

Regardless, they're made in sweat shops and you get what you pay for. My tailor HATES j.a.b. suits with a passion.

There are a few things I'll pay premium for and one of them is a nice suit. It will last forever and always be in style.

Oh, and stay away from double breasted if it's a rare occasion suit.
