I did frick up in this thread, though. Old Gringo boots are usually about $430...so they don't fit into the OP's budget.

Do you want a Western boot? You say "not cowboy" but do you mean not western boots or not boots with a riding heel?

if you want a western boot with a normal heel and square toe that you can wear every day, Ariat Ramblers. super comfortable and they look great with jeans

rocking mine right now baw

need to specify what you are doing in them and what requirements you are looking for. For casual and/or work, I love my old 6" Irish Setters. They are waterproof but no safety toe.

I have also owned a few pair of Danners and they were nice and comfortable.

I'm on my feet about 14 hour a day and walk roughly 10 to 15 miles on any given day for work and these do very well.

The pair that I am currently wearing for work is an Ecco Oxford that is waterproof but I think they were in the 225 range. The other two pair I put on there were in the 150 range.

the pictures you posted look like solid boots but going to their website makes their boots look like some ugly arse squatted boots.

If you up your price a little or find a sale (it happens) the 1000 mile chelseas are a good boot. I wear western boots too, but these are a good in between

i have a pair of Eastland 1955 Sherman Boots for $225 that have aged very well. I love them, very well built and reasonably priced. They have a lot of other styles around the $200 as well.

I got a couple pairs of Johnston and Murphy boots recently and they are some of my favorite shoes I've ever worn.

This is what I'm wearing today. My others are more dressy.
