You weren't in Collierville or Germantown then....you were in Memphis. They don't like to claim that shopping center hell on Winchester but it's part of the Hickory Hill/south wind section of Memphis. There's actually a lot of crime there.
The answer to the OP is either Westin or Peabody downtown. Book ahead of time.
You wouldn't recommend that someone visiting New Orleans stay in Mandeville. He's not buying real estate, he's visiting Beale.
