I grew up in Marshall. I probably know who you’re talking about. There is a great deal of old money in that town.

Son they decided to go after some 23 year old teacher? Makes sense.
Innocent until proven guilty but you usually have mountains of evidence in these cases. Digital means of communicating is how this stuff kicks off.
Photos, videos, texts, call histories. Most of it becomes impossible to explain away.
Absent digital evidence it's just a he said, she said. They could get away with it if they could stay off their damn phones.

A 23 year old teacher who happens to be married to the son of not only the school board President but also one of the most recognizable names in town.

Those families probably own LOTS of land around the area also. Multiple generations have been raking in Haynesville shale royalties from all that land.
