The cops were perfectly justified in blasting away at the car and it's occupants. It's just too damned bad a kid happened to be in the car. Killing civilians makes me hungry. Where's the nearest doughnut shop.

Dang that's intense. Is that normal for that area?

Drug busts, fighting and theft are but not shootings. There's been killings there before but it's every 3-4 years or so, not a weekly thing. It's definitely the worst area in Marksville, though.

So where are the countless cop supporters on this one? I mean the man did not comply, fled, and may have tried to ram the cruiser.

Hopefully this POS "father" goes down for murder for the death of that poor baby.

Yeah definitely not the cops who blew the babies head off pumping rounds into an unknown target.

And none of that excuses these cops for firing into a vehicle wildly. And not knowing the child was in there is no excuse. When they pulled their pistols they should have aimed and known what they were firing at before they put the first ounce of pressure on the trigger. Instead they pulled their pistols and just started hammering away recklessly and with total disregard of who they could hit. Their actions were unprofessional, reckless, and showed a complete disregard for safety. They must be held accountable for that child's death.

"You're dumb for thinking police should be held accountable when they kill innocent bystanders."

So you don't think the cops should be held responsible for wildly firing into a car without knowing who was in that car?? If the cops see a crime in a crowd of people, should they just open up and let the chips fall where they may?

Only if it's a crowd full of bikers.

I agree, Darth, and I would like to think any individual with formal weapons training feels the same way.

Did they "wildly fire into a car" or did they react to a threat and then take action to protect their lives and (potentially) those of the general public?

ETA: I want to be very clear that I think it's horrible that a child was taken from his family at such a young age. He was completely innocent. I guarantee you those officers feel the same way.

It's clear they fired into the vehicle without ascertaining whether innocent passengers were inside, otherwise they wouldn't have done it.

So, I'd say firing into a vehicle not knowing what you're shooting at is the equivalent to "wildly firing".

Why shouldn't they? Your life doesn't amount to a hill of beans. Drugs and drug users must be stamped out and we don't care how many of you have to be killed to get it done. You really should be thanking them.

Well there is only one of two possibilities of what happened:

1. They fired wildly into the car and accidentally shot and killed a 6 yr old child

2. They saw the 6 year old child in the car and shot them anyway.

Neither option is good or excusable. But those are the only two possible things that happened. Which one do you think happened?

You really think there's that much time to think? It doesn't happen in slow motion. This isn't a movie.
