He should have received the death penalty.

There is no rehabbing individuals like this.

I dont like the death penalty. Its an easy way out for pieces of shite like this.

I want special solitary confinement prisons for these guys. They are in the cell 23.5 hours a day. They get 5 min a day for a shower, 20 min to run around a yard by themselves and get exercise and thats it. Back in the cell. Not allowed books or anything. Cant talk to family and friends. That would be worse than death for me.

I'll bet you $10 he gets out in less than 20

He is pleading to 50yrs. I will bet you my house, my minivan, and all 3 of my kids that he does more than 20. He should do 85% if he's pleading to Att Murder. If the rape is part of this, that is flat time.

We can all agree that this guy is a POS and the world would be better off without him. But at least have some knowledge of the justice system before complaint about it.

Before any prosecutor works a deal like this, he'll consult with the victim. Believe it or not, many victims do not want to relive the crime. They don't want to go through a trial, and they might not want to risk the guy getting off when they can put him away for 40-50 years. There's little actual difference between a life sentence and a 50 yr sentence.

Plea deals are one of the biggest problems with the system. All the DA's are concerned with are conviction ratings.

There aren't nearly enough judges, DAs, defense lawyers, or jurors to have a trial for every case. People bitch now and don't show up whenever they get called for jury duty. It'd be impossible.

It's the rape charges that would get him life. Don't know what the evidence was on those. Max in attempted murder is 50 years. This is 50 no parole...he's 70+ when he gets out. It's fine

And nonsense why this is why BLM exists. Especially as most/all of the protests were for actions against unarmed people who did nothing like this. Some people just can't get past skin color. Thus We get BLM. Thanks a lot.

50 yrs for the rapes and attempted murder and 4 yrs for a jailhouse fight

This is honestly why most victim's families do not want the death penalty sought by the State. Most people find it impossible to move on after a death sentence is handed down. You have to relive everything for every appeal over a period of 15-20 years or more. A LWOP sentence, you get to move on after the trial (yes everyone gets one direct appeal, and a PCR, but it's nothing like a death penalty appeal from the victims families point of view).

Libtard has to be the least creative insult I've ever seen. It ends up just making you look stupid and unoriginal.

Seems pointless to plead to 50years. That's practically a life sentence.

To be fair, many things make that one look stupid and unoriginal.

the fact that this guy doesn't just get put to death as soon as possible shows how broken our system is. He'd need 30 years of appeals and bullshite to finally have enough to be put to death. Simply putting a bullet in his head does nothing but benefit society and provides closure for his victims.
