My plan has always been to find out who the baddest SOB / inmate is in the prison where my family members killer is and befriend them. Never ask directly but let them know my story. Buy them stuff, put money in their account, etc. Let it play out like that. I can't Imagine having a child murdered.

He probably didn't think he would get that much time. The fact that he wasn't in prison is a joke.

He had already been convicted of both sexual battery and burglary served two years for them.
Then served just eight years for 2nd degree murder.(In Louisiana, that is life in prison without any chance for parole)

He shouldn't have raped somebody, but he's trying to get to prison confront a murderer. "Lesser" crimes will just get you in county and nowhere near your murderer.

What he should have done is walk into a bank with a gun to "rob" it, then just sit down and wait for the cops. That way you have a serious enough charge without hurting anybody.

Pretty sure that's federal time.

Yep. That worked in Lionheart when Van Damme needed to infiltrate the prison system and needed a "respectable" conviction.

FL has some weird formula for computing time served, you get credit(reduction in time) for weekends, some holidays I think, and some of the hours in a total week, I assume it is for over crowding
