he shoulda robbed banks til he got caught. stashed money for when/if he gets out. try to make killing the guy in prison look like self defense.

Although calling 911 on himself does seem to back up his story, it sounds like a bullshite excuse from someone with a history of violent crimes.

It doesn't make any sense on many different levels. Just because he is going to prison doesn't mean he is going to the same prison and even if he does it doesn't mean that he is going to have access to the guy. Maybe he just wanted to rape the woman, and he used getting back at his son's killer as an excuse for sympathy points.
