Is there a real risk of a tsunami here? Don't earthquakes that cause tsunamis usually occur out at sea?

It shook my house hear in Austin. It's an old pier and beam. Sometime in the middle of the night I woke up to my nightstand moving slightly back and forth and a rhythmic creaking sound from the wood floor. I said to myself "I'll read about an earthquake tomorrow" and went back to sleep. Sure enough...
