According to US News and World Report, LSU ranked 133rd among best colleges, on par with UK and U of Arkansas, but behind 9 other SEC schools.

Not impressed.

Kind of a vague post here.

LSU can stand still and still probably move ahead of Mizzou at the rate they are plummeting.

From AAU to "aw shite we have no students" in record time.

Very proud of my two degrees from LSU, also very proud all three of my children will have Tulane degrees.

But the trashy parade ground fights are cool.

A Louisiana public university isn't ranked very high? You don't say.

Why anyone pays attention to those rankings is beyond me. They simply perpetuate existing university stereotypes.

F. King Alexander says the U.S. News and World Report rankings are crap
quote:

“I think U.S. News has done more damage to the higher education marketplace than any single enterprise that’s out there,” Alexander tells Politico. LSU was ranked No. 135 in the country in last year’s rankings, a drop of six spots from the year previous. The school ranked No. 64 among all public schools.

quote:

Berthelot-Arceneaux points to the White House College Scorecard, an official government tool Alexander helped develop, as a better system for determining the country’s best colleges. In the three main criteria on the scorecard—average annual cost, graduation rate and salary after attending—LSU scores better than average.

25% of the input into these rankings are "perception votes" by other University Presidents. If any student/parent uses these rankings to pursue their higher education, they're idiots.

Of course he does.

What else would you expect F. King to say?

"You know...I've been thinking about this and I think they are right. This list has made me want to get a new job before I'm fired"

I'm guessing #64 among public schools is "better than average" as well.

...Because he's been governor the last 2 years. Just like Everything from 2008-2017 was GWB's fault?
