Can't wait to drop my boat in and cruise the lake during sorority rush.

It would make for a good academic project, but this is nowhere within the scope of knowledge of students or professors. Not to mention it's a multi-year project that couldn't be completed in a semester or two.

Good points. Admittedly don't know enough about the LA program at LSU, just was throwing out an idea. Assumed one or two of the professors owned firms and maybe there could be a partnership with the school/firm.

The primary goal is to dredge the lakes. Secondary is beautification. If they just wanted it to look good, why don't they just have landscape architects solely on the job

I have known probably 30 people who came out of LA at LSU, and not a single one of them has anywhere near the knowledge to do anything about the dredging

The dredging is not the main goal; it is PART of the solution to achieve the main goal.

The main goal, from my understanding, is to ensure the long-term health of the lake and surrounding areas, all while incorporating an expansive greenway/recreational component with the spoils so that they dont have to "remove" them from the site.

Simply dredging the lake would be a very narrow-minded solution. What BRAF is seeking is a much more holistic approach.

And there are are these things called "teams" in which people of different expertise work together to find the best solution......as an ME, have you ever worked on a project that was nothing but mechanical? If so, they are probably few and far between.

A project like this may have as many as 10 sub-consultants on the team.
