LSU should get rid of every fraternity. Nothing but self-centered, pretentious douches. A collection of social misfits who have to buy friendships. Tired of them giving my University a blackeye.

Lambda Chi got a lot of slack when I was there in the early 00's. Maybe that has changed.

Deke was booted from campus for a while when I was at LSU. Like 5 years IIRC. They aren't gonna lose their house because they own it

I can totally see not "getting" the Greek culture or that style just not being your cup of tea. But the "buying friends" thing is played out. Being part of an organization where you pool your money to have parties and stuff isn't buying friends. But I don't even know why I'm arguing that point.
The funny thing about your statement is "social misfits" and giving "my University a blackeye". :rotflmao: Fraternity memebers aren't doing anything differently than the rest of the student body, they are just under a microscope. Drinking, drugs, general fricking off are pretty standard and they just get it plastered in the Reville when it happens. I would say statistically, Greeks are going to have higher GPA's, be more involved in the University, etc.

I know. The worst is when you graduate and then have to go work for them. It really gets my goat.

I'm pretty sure in my time, all of these organizations were hit with some kind of trouble, or they were just coming off of it. I know all 3 have had their issues.

Yes, that's a good possibility. Regardless of that, a lot of these Greek alumni will stop donating if LSU got rid of all the fraternities.

I was a Lambda at LSU. For 1500 bucks a semester I got a room in a mansion, 3 meals a day, on campus parking and tons of parties. Oh and two Greek football tickets for every game. frick the student section.

I had friends in a lot of different fraternities. They all had friends before joining. Fees go for parties, house, eating, etc

You queer, you paid for those friends. You probably couldn't make any real friends. Did you have to individually go up to each person and give them cash to hang out with you? Was it an hourly pay thing, or like a lump sum per semester?

I did. The cooler guys cost more to hang out with. Once I graduated and the money stopped so did all contact with my "friends."

It was cheaper for me to do all of this and pay fraternity dues as opposed to staying in the dorm on a meal plan.
