Construction is slated to begin in the fall of 2014, with an estimated completion scheduled for fall 2017.

How does a $52 million building take 3 years to build? Unless it hasn't been designed yet.

the building will be >100Mill.
Base design has been done, but detailed design has not finished.

Even if it was all designed, the complexities of working around existing facilities add to the schedule.

But 3 years? That's a little excessive. Hell, the Huey P. in New Orleans was roughly $400 million and done in 5 years, while maintaining traffic. Granted commercial construction is different from Civil, but it sounds like someone will be given a lot of time on this job.

3 years looks to be the life of the project from design to bid to completion. Non of which has happened yet.

Are they going to change the grade of Nicholson Extension in front of this building?

Pretty much - Have to remember that the building will remain in use during the construction. Last I heard the part of the building on top of the parking lot will be built first and used as swing space while the rest of the building is systematically gutted and rebuilt.

Well it is the Moran family gate. I know nothing about Shreveport.

If I'm not mistaken, this includes the renovations to CEBA. Build the new building, xfer classes, then renovate CEBA.

$105 Million.

And they are going to build the 80,000 square foot addition first, then rotate what's in that addition by the three floors as they are renovated one by one.

I think it was $27 mil in private funds and the state did a 1:1 matching to get to the $50 mil plus raised

So I'm hearing that they already have awarded the construction contract to MAPP in a GMP agreement. Can anyone confirm this?

So it's essentially a design-build? How did they determine who was awarded the job? Never saw anything publicized about it.
