Sources say the teen admitted to reaching for the officer’s gun during the struggle

If this happened without his parents or attorney present, doesn’t matter. Not admissible. And I’d even argue came as a result of intimidation.

Brusly cops are notorious for being Barney Fife types with itchy trigger fingers. They’re the type to pull you over for going 27 in a 25.

After watching that video, I’m mad as hell. For the kid. I hope the LSP and any other authoritative body prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. They should not only never be cops again, but be in jail for assaulting a minor.

If the kid admitted to reaching for the gun, then the cop was right try to subdue him. However, that cop walked into the room with the intention of escalating the situation. He walked in pointing at the kid and mouthing off, there was no doubt how that situation was going to go.
That guy has no business being a cop, he needs to find another way to make a living.

Shouldn’t the officers weapon and holster system be attached to him in a manner where someone can’t just remove the whole thing in a scuffle. This looks like the cop had some kind of easy on easy off holster like a paddle holster.

If so, I would question his decision making skills for that alone.

I don’t hold the kid responsible for anything he may have done after Barney fife slammed him to the ground for no reason. He was probably scared shitless

There is no need for this sentance. The author is trying to get readers to make conclusions based on this bit of info.

Is it not the writer's job to describe the scene of what's happening?

Why did the cop grab him in the 1st place.
My best guess is barney did not le the words thst came from the kid. Did not show the cop the respect he felt he was due.

Why did the cop come into the office? I will bet you it was because of the argument the teen had with the principle. If so, how is that a police matter?

I hope barney is fired and charged with assault. Dont worry he is immune from justice, he is a cop.

I did, I'm referring to everything the cop did after the kid reached for the gun. I don't excuse the cop for instigating and escalating the whole thing from the get-go. Cop is completely to blame in this scenario.

Big deal. School is a place where everyone should be free to learn. Anyone there preventing that or standing in the way of it should be forcibly removed permanently

There is still the guy there who fought with the principal and cops in past one two separate occasions.

The cop seems to have escalated the situation which was a bad decision.

But in my nearly 4 decades of living I’ve never been in a position that could possibly lead to a cop body slamming me. If for some reason that ever happened I certainly wouldn’t reach for his gun.

That was a radio they put on the counter, not a gun.

And while I'm sure that kid is a known punk due to his previous escapades, that fat frick cop was way out of line. As was the second one throwing him into the counter.

Of course nothing will happen to them.
