They are building a Dollar General in a little town called Maurepas. I got offered to manage the branch. If I take the job I will have to move because my commute would be too far. Anybody know anything about the town?

Great restaurants in the area. Red's, Val's, Kevin's, Sarita's, Swamp Pop

My family is from there. If you have kids, id do as stated above and move to west ponchatoula for a better school district. It would be a 15-20 minute commute. There is literally 2 gas stations, and now apparently a DG in Maurepas.
The people there are very nice tho (excluding druggies) and the school is good, dont get me wrong.

Small community, with a few good seafood places around it. It floods so be careful with that. It has a anytime fitness also, but it's not to far out the way from some bigger towns. I live close to it. It's a quiet peaceful place.

By where I live. Small town, very small. Unless you want to be on the river everyday there isn't much to do. Closest place to go would be gonzales or Hammond.
