Love bug "escape velocity"

What is the maximum speed that I can travel and have love bugs bounce off my truck without depositing their guts on it? Just need a cruise control setting, thanks.

I've found that 40-45 works sometimes, 55 will splatter. Whenever a big bug would hit back in the day without hesitation dad would bust out the "took a lot of guts to do that" line, good times.

Where are you? I ran through a plague between Natchitoches and Alexandria Friday. My blue-gray SUV was almost black by the time I got to Baton Rouge.

Depends on the profile of the vehicle. sports cars are better than pick up trucks. My current vehicle obliterates the little buggers at 42.5 mph. naturally I keep it at 42.
