We may never know what caused her to lose control of the vehicle. Very sad for her mother and her child. She was also an only child.

I didn't realize she was driving in bad weather at the time. If that's the case, that's certainly a plausible cause.

Honestly, I don't think anyone is going to know whether it was raining or not. If nobody saw it happen, nobody really knows when she went in the water. I personally think she was messing around on the phone, unfortunately.
