Well if you factored in the fun factor and the culture I think we move up. But the statistics are pretty disturbing none the less.

I don't see how any state could be worse than Mississippi or Alabama.

Putting Louisiana last, so next year, they can put them back to second to last to show fake improvement from Gov. Edwards and push their left winged agenda

But it’s based on the simple idea that education, health and wealth generally make us better off, while crime, unemployment and death do not.

It's looking like a banner year for crime and unemployment.

Let's manipulate the data like Obama does with unemployment numbers. If we exclude a certain demographic, then the numbers look great!

Mississippi is a lot worse than Alabama, which is really sad.

From what I understand, West Virginia is worse off than Alabama.

Nothing tops Mississippi as the worst, though.

This article is pretty laughable.

I mean honestly what is there to do in New Hampshire or Delaware. I love the south for the most part.

Im not going to look at the list, but my assumption is states with smaller, more homogenous populations, and a better educated populous are toward the top. While more rural, diverse, and less educated states are near the bottom.
