Does anyone know if there is a minimum size your lot can be in order to build a single family residential home? Baton Rouge FYI

you want one of those houses where you reach out the bathroom window and touch your neighbor's house?

why not just buy a condo?

It isn't actually. Some areas have a minimum your lot size has to be in order to use a mechanical system on it and add in field lines if needed.

It's only dumb in the fact that it varies by parish and city so he needs to call the building permit office in his area to find out.

Septic? Newer regs require you to have the room to double the system. That could mean 600' plus of lines.

how tiny of a house are you looking to build?

and yea, you need to call your local offices and discuss this kind of thing, realistically

Im in Texas so probably wont help much, but here it depends if you have city water/sewer. If you need a well and septic system you need a full acre.

That's considered a big lot in old Metairie. My fried built a 4000 ft2 house on a lot with a 50 ft frontage.

Doesn't it depend on your neighborhood? and if it's zoned or unzoned.

Someone thought so, he lived in it about 2 years and sold it for a $200K profit.

He has bought, built and sold about 10 houses in the last 15 years. I told him he should live in a tent.
