But homicide rates have been rising for the last 2 years. This is not related to policing tactics or budgets but to some sort of sociological change. There are many theories of what is causing this rise but no one knows what is really causing it.

Well, we can start with a growing lack of respect for human life.

I guess we'll have a good idea on whether defunding the police works in a year then. It'll either get better real quick or it's totally crap.

Spoiler alert if you don’t want to wait a year to know. It will be much, much worse, because make believe and real life are very, very different.

Homicides up 25% vs 2019.

Just think if 1 person in that 25% would have been killed by police there'd be riots. But they weren't so crickets.

What exactly do you think the word defund means?

You have to love liberal ran cities that both loathe the police, but can't live without them. It's quite the quandary.

For instance in domestic dispute the police will arrest the most aggressive party

A “social worker” will arrest the person with the most oppression points and will wait for “facts” and see if they outweigh the inherent guilt of the oppressor in the situation.

This is -- without question -- the scariest and most ridiculous thing I have read in a long, long time.

You are totally insane.

Kamala Harris, AOC, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumers. Which one are you in real life with a take like this?

Explain to me the correlation between murder numbers and budget cuts to the agency tasked with solving murders. There is none.

When a murder is solved and that person is arrested they are not going to murder more people. There are tons of people in jail who have murdered more than one person. Had they been caught after the first murder they would not have murdered the second time. So yes, solving murders leads to less murders.

Speaks to how amazing the reduction of crime in LA had been over the past decade. It has been the safest big city in the country.

well, if people would just stop gathering with family for holidays, this would stop.
