Background:
-Kids go to a charter school, started in person Monday in person
-district, and most districts around us are online at least through September, so kinda bullseye. They know that, lot of precautions, hired a full time covid person, etc to monitor

Situation:
My 5th grader started Monday. One kid in class, mom is super rich (inherited millions I guess) but super active and donates a ton of money

Rich mom in passing last night told another mom her kid has been sick at least all last week. Got tested for mono, strep, covid late last week. Doctor said “extremely” unlikely it’s covid”

So she sends the kid Monday to “not miss first day” and he’s out yesterday, still sick. Apparently no tests are back, which has to be a lie, at least mono and strep. Has told no one at school.

WTF is that? This how everyone gets sick (at least mono/strep) and potentially the whole fricking school put online or totally fricked.

Do we go Karen on mom on rat her out or play this out like normal times?

...I’m personally not rating on this Info alone, but begs the question generally. In my case I’m sure it will get out if she told enough people

Is this rumor or fact? Make sure you have the facts right before snitching.

Ill add that my kid went to 5 weeks of summer camp for her private school and they used it as a test run for this school year. It went very smoothly.

That seems counter- productive if you don't want to get in person school cancelled.

Unless your kid lives with grandma or in a nursing home I wouldn’t worry about your kid catching something that has zero affect on him.

Just think in about 3 weeks all the kids will have gotten it and life can go on as normal.

Well fact as far as we know. Mom of sick kid told another mom all this (kid sick, no tests back, not told school) but hard to trust a gaggle of hens.

I’m pissed mostly bc the school was very clear: we’re a small community, don’t be trashy and send sick kids or we’re all fricked and we’re under a microscope

I picked up my kid last week from the Ex. Found out she was sick when she got in the car. She went to the doctor, they didn't do a COVID test, but did x-ray her head, and diagnosed her with a sinus infection. Gave her antibiotics and sent her on her way. She hasn't missed any school.

Right. That’s my thoughts. Im sure this will get out soon enough. Mom of kid told another mom at a younger sibling’s practice.

I’m personally not going to rat on this info alone but sure it’s out of my control and what will happen will happen

Don't be jealous of the rich mom. Live your life.

You should publicly shame their family via any and all online forums and expose the truth about their reckless disregard for human life.

I’ll see if I can find one. She’s ok, kind of weathered. Rail thin

It really doesn't spread that easily. Maybe back off the scare media.

I'd keep my mouth shut, but there isn't much I hate more than school mom drama.

Not as much from illness, but sadly going to school was a very bold move and we’ve had a ton of critics. Like district tried to prevent us from going back, through charter statutes. Don’t want the coronabros to have more fuel

I've heard of kids in college having Covid parties where the ones that are positive wear different color lipstick and then at the end of the night you count how many rings you get on your dick.

I’d be MUCH more worried about Mono than anything else. However, you don’t know if the mom she told this to is blowing it up for drama due to her own concerns or not. Play it out but tell your kid to keep his/her distance in case it’s mono.
