Simpson Sod quoted me $160-$175 a pallet (delivered) for Centipede or Bermuda and $40 a pallet to install it. I've been told be a few folks that they are high.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

A few months ago, I paid $270/pallet for Empire Zoysia. That included installation. I thought the price was fair. They were very easy to work with. I would highly recommend them.

Zoysia is a bitch to maintain. But does look awesome.

Warning--I used a much cheaper group, sorry cannot remember the name, a few years ago and everywhere I put the sod down I now have multiple weeds. Not saying Simpson is "be all end all" but do your homework and make sure you're not getting pasture grass that will eventually have weeds.

Oh and monitoring this thread because I need to re-sod over those last 2 pallets again.

So far, it has been really easy. That being said, I do have to bag the back now. I also find myself watering a little more even though it is supposed to be fairly drought tolerant. I should have been a little more diligent about it in the past anyway. The only realy battle so far is female dog pee.

If you just laid sod down on tilled dirt with no prep work and no pre-emergent on the grass in the last 2 years, you're going to get weeds.

Meh, for only a pallet or two I'll do it myself. For an entire landscape, probably so. Whatever blows your hair back right?
