Most dentist will take Care Credit which gives like 18 months, no interest.

Do this. Get a Care Credit card to pay the dentist in full and just pay the card off. My wife had to get an implant plus some other work done, that is the route we took and it worked out perfect.

I have Q-Dent insurance for $64/month for their family plan. I've had multiple root canals, a crack filed down, resurfaced and multiple fillings after getting over a fear of dentists a few years back.

The assertion that it's a ripoff is verifiable bullshite. The decreased costs from the procedures that are covered is real. Beyond that, if you couple it with AFLAC or supplemental insurance, some people can actually make money off dental visits.

I pay less than $20 a month for mine through work.

Just had a root canal/crown done. Only had to pay around $500 out of pocket total for everything...insurance covered the rest.

Who/where do you purchase this through?

Fear of dentist is not something I have, fortunately. One time, I was working night shifts and went to the dentist in the morning after I got off. I fell asleep in the chair with the dentist drilling away. He and his assistant both tripped right the hell out.

I was almost going to take your post serious until you mentioned Aflac.

And yes, dental insurance is a crock of crap.
