I am in the same boat as this. Will be doing as much research as possible. I've always had Gmc vehicles, but the f-150 has grown on me. However, I will gonwuthbthe best price for what I want.
My iPhone hates the space button too
But yea, I agree the ford has grown on me too.. very nice looking truck... Someone also posted a white Z71 that they bought on the outdoor board the other day that was beautiful.. I'll try to find it
Forgot what his name was but I think it was TennesseeFan or something like that... Love this truck

Just got an new lariat and its awesome. 501a, ac seats, Only extras I wanted are the twin panel moonroof and leather. The rest of the extras were stuff I might actually need one day. I found one that didn't have extras I considered overpriced fluff. Like chrome, park assist, adaptive cruise, etc
I just ordered a rollbak aluminum cover. For a metal rolling cover, it had the best price by a good margin. And it is made around Houston, which I think is the closest to where I live. All things equal, I like supporting as local/close as I can

Is it possible to get a v8 anymore in the 150?
My brother in law just bought an expedition with the twin turbo 6 banger. He likes it and says it has plenty of power. Looked up the specs and its supposedly around 345.
Not sure if it's the same for the F150 but probably is.

Pretty much all I want in my next vehicle is leather seats, bucket seating in the front, and 4wd, the rest is lagniappe.

That's a solid arse truck. Long wheel base?

Do the addons with the Lariat trim justify the price spread versus the XLT trim?
-No.
Are there concerns about the EcoBoost engine versus the other types?
-No concerns at all. I believe the 5.0 v8 costs more.
If i'm mostly using the truck for commuting and light towing, would I get by just fine with 2wd? I'm in the Midwest so even highway driving during the winter can be treacherous with snow.
-Yes. Get the E-locker differential.
What actual MPG do you get versus the EPA ratings?
-I have the 3.5 ecoboost and I avg around 22 MPG city/hwy. Which comes out to around 21 avg doing the actual math.
What bed cover would you recommend?
-That's your personal preference.
-No.

I guess the key is to get rid of it prior to the warranty running out.
We'e better get used to it. V8's will soon be illegal or at least not offered. The same will apply to 6 cylinder engines and so on.
Thanks EPA. You weren't a problem when you were hugging trees and molesting animals. When you actually have influence, that's where it becomes a problem.

no offense, but that is not a practical truck for some that uses their truck for work, and I dont mean farm work

not to poopoo on your govt rant and all, but the 3.5 ecoboost has better payload and towing to go along with the better mpg's

Understood... That's not my truck though but would be perfect for what I need

I think I ended up paying 10.5% under MSRP. Don't know exactly what that was. I was happy with the price at the time.
Damn, that's pretty good. What dealership?

I have a 2013 F-150 XLT 4x4 with the off-road package. I have the 5.0l V8 and I get about 17 highway. I drive like a bat out of hell though. I lOVE my truck. GF just got a 2016 XLT Sport with the 2.7l v6 Ecoboost. That little 2.7 will smoke my truck like I'm standing still. She is getting 20 so far. We got both of our vehicles in Houston and saved about $4000. FYI, there are around $7500 in rebates out there till October. We got hers for $11,500 off MSRP.
As far as the poster that doesn't like the engine stopping at red lights. Better get used to it. I have a feeling that you will see it in all vehicles in a few years. It's a fuel economy thing like hypermiling.
