Yeah, but back then you would have had to have a quarter on you to call them.

Can you call Uber from a pay phone?

Me too. When I was at LSU, it was definitely $.25

I never saw a cell phone there but they existed, mostly car or bag phones and nothing a student could possibly afford or really wanted. Pagers were in their heyday.

One guy I knew had his own PC and got dial-up senior year. Internet access was mostly a thing for the library and a few of our EE labs.

This the old folks thread now?

Man I honestly can say that there is a higher power because back in the day the least drunk was the designated driver in my group of Friends. I am so glad I have 3 responsible teens now and you better believe if they drink without me knowing that uber or myself better be called.

It just needed to be done. I went on a solid drunken rage after the game tonight. Passed out shortly after. I just needed to finish the job I started

I am no quitter

No, but it struck me as odd talking about drunk posting at 2am.

The thought of getting back from the bars and sitting in front of a PC running DOS and typing stuff made me chuckle.

Get up and get your blood circulating. Nobody ever fell asleep while they were walking.

Unless you're trying to nap, then don't listen to my dumb arse.
