Old Camp Claiborne is pretty cool. An abandoned WWII installation, it's about 50 miles east of Ft. Polk. The front gate was at the intersection of LA112 and US 165, just north of Forest Hill.
You can still see the foundations of many of the old buildings and bunkers, but the area is grown up with trees. Some of the roads are still passable, but some areas are off limits due to potential unexploded ordnance.
Oh yeah, and there's a place not too far from me called "Headless" where apparently people have seen the ghost of a headless horseman.
Personally I think it was a bunch of hippies hallucinating.
