Highland road has always been called highland road but Burbank was once called lowland rd. there's a creek that separates the two.

Didn't know this one. Didn't know there was a road there before Burbank was built several decades ago.

Great comparison. That place is a shithole.

I have nothing else to contribute.

When Plank Road became a poured concrete road the portion inside the city was renamed to Concrete Drive but the name did not stick.

In a neighborhood,If odd addresses are on your right, the numbers are decreasing. This is not true on boulevards.

Baton Rouge is the only US city where a green traffic signal means either slow down or pause for 30 secs before proceeding through the intersection.

You can watch the Tigers play baseball in both cities. That's where the comparison ends.

highland road got its name for being a natural levee running through Baton Rouge

Nope, it runs atop the Prairie Terrace. The natural levee is next to the river.

Istroma bluff which makes LSU sits on a plateau

LSU is mostly on the prairie terrace too. Not sure where Istrouma Bluff is, prolly downtown or where the Yard is.

Concerning the bridge in BR:

Dual purpose bridges for cars and rail throughout LA, including BR, were funded to be built by the RR companies. HP Long's requirement for the RR companies, was if they wanted to build a bridge across the rive and a RR through LA, then they would have to also build a roadway alongside for cars to cross the river. Somehow he named all of these bridges after himself and his family.

Speculation (which is fact for most people here) is that it was cheaper to build the one in BR lower than the one in NOLA and it is also cheaper to use barges to traverse the MS River than it is to take an ocean going vessel and lock it up for months going up to Memphis and all parts north. So, the height of the bridge in BR has more to do with economics and less to do with stopping vessels in BR.

There seems to be lots of facts/myths of HP Long's grip around the balls of the RR companies back in the day.
