Anyone have experience with them? Looking at purchasing one but didn't realize there were so many different models. Is the new Xtreme worth the extra money or should I just go with one of the 4 other basic models? Just needing a ladder for around the house, getting on the roof, trimming tree limbs, etc. Link just in case

I buy everything marked "Extreme" and bonus points if they spell it "Xtreme".

But I drive 10-15mph over speed limit everywhere I go. The extreme life isn't for everyone.

Have used. Too damn heavy for my liking. If it stays home that's ok. Cheaper , lighter and more user-friendly to have a separate stepper. & extension , IMO

They didn't have the extreme when I bought one years ago. Love it and use it a bunch.

I have had the little giant and the werner knockoff brand of it. They all seem to work fine for home use. I'm not a contractor and just need it do stuff like you mentioned. Get on the roof, maybe some small painting projects, changing light bulbs etc.

They are heavy, but if it's for just around the house they do the job, and keep you from needing a step ladder and a tall ladder to get on the roof.

I agree with the weight problem. I have one and rarely use it. I use the 8' A frame for most needs, and I have a 10' A frame for taller needs. For small roof jobs, I have an extension ladder. I only break out the Lil' Giant if I have a more involved job, like painting or big gutter work.

The reality is that for home use, when you have a job to do, you always go for the tool that will be the easiest, lightest, most efficient, first and only later break out the heavier stuff if needed.

Mine is probably 50 lbs, but I think the new ones are much lighter. I mean, the old ladies carry them around on the commercials

I cut some boards to use as scaffolding, and it works really well

I have a regular 19'. It's been in the back of my truck 24/7/365 for 10+ years. Still works as well as the day it was bought. Check prices on Amazon with the free shipping.
