I have an LG front load washer that is giving a PE error code. It was giving the code at random times. Sometimes as soon as I turned the washer on, sometimes it would run a whole cycle, sometimes it would give the code halfway during a wash. I replaced the pressure switch assembly. Ran about 5 minutes of a wash and then gave to PE code. Anybody know anything about these washers?

Clogged pump most likely, does your model have the accessible water pump behind a door at the bottom? If so check and see if it has any junk in it.

with your model number I can give better info.

I checked the pump filter at the bottom on the front. It was clean.

Water level sensor

1) Verify that the black tube is still connected to the Water Level Sensor at the top of the washer---and to the Air Bell at the bottom of the tub.

2) Remove the black tube from the Water Level Sensor---and blow into tube---to clear a possible blockage. Reconnect and test washer.

3) Water Level Pressure Sensors rarely* fail.

on that model, 100% it's the pressure switch. Very easy to change. You take off the top panel (two screws, either phillips or 1/4") and it should be right there at the top. It will have a hose going to it that measures the pressure inside the tub, which tells it water level. It will be attached with two screws, have a wire harness that easily un-clips and the hose will either pull off, or will have a small spring clamp on it.

Here is the part Amazon for $16, LG brand part
Here is some info on this problem.

quote:

LG Washing Machine Displaying Fault Code PE
WM2277HW
PRESSURE SENSOR ERROR // Water level pressure switch error

The manufacturer has assigned this error or fault code to indicate that the machine is overfilling with water. This washer is equipped with a water level pressure switch. As the machine fills, the pressure increases on the switch, at the set pressure, the switch cuts power to the water inlet valve and the water stops flowing into the washer. If the pressure switch fails to sense properly, or the water inlet valve fails to shut off the unit can overfill. This situation can also be caused if the machine does not drain properly. First, check to see if water ever enters the machine when it is turned off. If so, replace the water inlet valve. Next, check the drain line to be sure it’s not clogged or kinked. Next, check to see if the drain pump is working properly and removing the water from the previous cycle. If all of those check out, you may need to replace the pressure switch.

It's A410 on this image.

That image suchs in that it doesn't show you the exact spot, but you can't miss the part when you take the top off.

I can't add to repairs but I can say after my wife's experience(s) with LG we moved to Speed Queen Commercial quite a few years ago and haven't looked back. Less expensive and better built.

Just my Speed Queen plug.

I can't deny they are the best. They look like they are 20 year old designs, but nothing is better made. The ones I do see where built in the 80's and early 90's then 00 models haven't really started having parts wear out yet.

Yup, A relative had one of these front loading washers and she had nothing but problems out of it. I think it stopped working after a year.

I replaced that switch today. Still not working right, gives PE error. It started for a few minutes and then gave the error.

check out this thread LINK

If it's not the switch, or the hosem, then it's the board.

LG's are known to have board issues, I know it would suck to put a $150 part in, but you have a pressure error.
If you know the switch is good and you have a clear hose, then it likely is the control.

quote:

Remove the black tube from the Water Pressure Sensor---and blow through it.

Remove/re-connect all plugs on the Main Board

Inspect all wiring that leads/runs from the Water Pressure Sensor-to-the Main Board.
You're looking for wiring damage caused by a wildly-out-of-control spinning tub assy---slamming into the wire loom.

Test Washer.

If still malfunctioning---replace the MAIN BOARD.

Ours isn't an LG but we had a similar error and it all pointed to the pressure switch so I changed it but it didn't fix the issue. What our problem was some bad capasitor on the main control board.
