Wow. That happened extremely fast.

Good for the cop. Looks like he waited until the perp raised his gun.

Holy hell.

It even looks like the JPSO officer hesitates and the gunman's firearm malfunctions, then the LEO takes this shots.

Very lucky to be alive.

really quite the fricking shame that officers feel the need to hesitate in some situations cause it's only a matter of time before hesitation costs another life.

The man can be seen raising a dark-colored object that the Sheriff's Office identified as a 9mm pistol and pointing at the deputy twice.

It's interesting how the writer tiptoes around the fact that he pointed a gun at the deputy.

It's an object identified as a pistol. Like maybe there was some debate and it could have been misidentified.

Maybe the perp's mother can join Hillary on stage at the DNC.

Terrible camera.

"Newspaper dealer Yolanda Treece was headed to the warehouse about 12:25 a.m. to pick up newspapers for delivery when she said she noticed patrol cars that appeared to be following her.

"We were trying to figure out what was going on when," Treece said. "I was pulling into the parking lot, and I saw deputies in front of the building."

She noted at least one of the deputies was carrying what she called a machine gun."

Why do they print this crap?

That is completely justified, but will still be included in the "atrocious" statistic of police killing black men.

Hummm...wonder why he hesitated?

Rhetorical....I think we all know why.

Right? If she had said it was a potato gun, would they have included that?

The Jefferson Parish coroner's office identified the man killed as Devon Martes, 17, of Metairie

Ohh, so now that we have video of him pulling and pointing the gun at the police officer all of a sudden a 17 year old black dude is all of a sudden a man and not a kid.
