What made you think it was going to get pitch black? Movies, television, YouTube videos? Most videos online are through a lens that makes it dark so it is easier to see.

Yeah my sister and her family went to TN and said it sucked. They went to some stadium where alot of people were observing and the majority were Star War geeks running around quoting Spok about living prosper and gesturing with their hands. Total letdown she said.
