That's what is cool about the fitness bands...I don't have to have my phone with me for it to track my steps, calories, etc.

And when I'm riding my bike or hiking....it's nice to just look down at my wrist real quick and not stop to take my phone out to see who texted or called. Then if it's urgent...I can stop.

You just made a thread about not eating for 24 hours and it's health benefits. You're 155 pounds--for people who train for mass and aesthetics, yes, it is widely accepted.

First periodic fasts have tons of health benefits. Second I am a little over 155 now but still under 10% bodyfat( I have posted pics) and I am in my 40's , third people that train for mass and aesthetics and have any knowledge of nutrition know it is complete and utter nonsense.

What can it do that can not be done on your phone

the HRM models continuously track your heart rate throughout the day (for whatever this data is worth).

The web support and app are pretty nice, again if the data they keep track of is meaningful to you. You don't need to buy the fitbit to use the ap, but the pedometer and hrm data import automatically if you do

Good to know. It sounds like a good product for someone who might want to monitor all these things.
