Left turn arrows coming to Brightside/Nicholson Intersection

The left-turn arrows will be for drivers going both northbound and southbound. Traffic engineers will spend the next 30 days closely watching the intersection near the Louisiana State University campus, where several apartment complexes and popular eateries are located. If the left turn signals are deemed to be helpful, they could be the first step toward more major improvements to the intersection, according to city-parish officials. The city-parish’s Green Light Plan, which uses some tax dollars for road improvement projects, has targeted the intersection for future fixes. Those include adding left-turn lanes and more through lanes, which city-parish Chief Traffic Engineer Ingolf Partenheimer said in a statement should significantly improve the intersection.

Long overdue. I can't say how many times I've almost been hit by dumbasses using the right hand turn lane to go around a stationary left-turner and through the intersection.

That entire road needs and extra lane for turning vehicles. Its a disaster of a road for traffic and accidents

Shouldnt they have them to turn OFF of nicholson?

As usual with the advocate, its a poorly worded article. Lee & Brightside already have left turn signals, so it would have to mean nicholson is finally getting the turn signals.
